Concrete scanning is an investigation of a specific element before a specific penetration. It looks for reinforcement, embedded services and other features inside the concrete so a cut or a core can be positioned away from them, or moved before work starts.
A scan informs that decision. It does not authorise the cut on its own, and the result still has to be read alongside your drawings, your structural advice and your site's own controls.
Scope the scan around the penetrations
The most useful thing to send is the penetrations themselves. Where exactly the holes or cuts go, how many, what size, on which face, and whether a position can move if something is found. A scan quoted against a whole floor and a scan quoted against six marked core positions are different jobs.
What VACIT needs to know before quoting
Tell VACIT the element and its approximate thickness if you know it, whether both faces can be reached, the working height, whether the area will be live during the work, and any drawings you already hold. Access and site conditions change the setup as much as the concrete does. VACIT scans in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Ipswich, Logan, the Sunshine Coast and the surrounding South East Queensland corridor.
Agree the outcome, and leave time to use it
Confirm with VACIT what the result has to let you do, including whether you need a record you can hand on, before the job is booked. If the element is or may be post-tensioned, or the decision needs formal sign-off, raise that with the enquiry so the right scope, and the right provider, can be confirmed. Allow enough time between the scan and the cutting to review what was found and adjust a penetration if you need to.

Give VACIT the element, the exact cut or core positions, whether both faces can be reached and whether anything can move. That is what decides the scan time and the quote.
